Test Taking
Yesterday I had a biology test and I studied for weeks for this test. When I got the test in my hand, it was as though I was reading "Blackwatch" or "House of Leaves." I got an instant headache. Even though I felt completely prepared for the test, my mind became blank. If I were to have a conversation about the material covered, I would be able to carry it on. Every question looked like a never-ending corridor to me.
I was sailing for most of the test. I have tried taking classes for this problem and I still haven't overcome my fear, or my nervousness. One of my professors has actually addressed this issue, he asked me, "why is it that you can answer so many questions in class, but you are unable to pull off a perfect test?" The truth is I have a hard time with test taking even when I study my heart out. Actually, I do better when I just look over my notes prior to the test. I wish that I can find a solution for this.
