A Test

I still have cramps in my wrist from the test last week. Along with the pain comes worry. My goodness, I had to take the test with a migraine. What’s going through my mind? I think the test was not hard at all, but after reading the questions it brought on worry. I was worried about if I would come up wit enough information to support the questions and the ideas I had.

I can say the test was well-put-together. I actually forgot all about the “Mercy Seat”. The questions brought on a lot of memories on that short play. The play that I’m sure others didn’t remember as well.

What does any student expect in a test? Would we prefer an easy test or a hard test? A test that is so easy that we can’t even pass or a test that is basically a summary of what we have learned.

Devastating News!

As if our daily news doesn’t give us enough bad news. We have to listen to the crimes on the streets we walk on everyday. We also have to hear the slandering of celebrities. The recent news of Jennifer Hudson's family caught everyone by surprise. Even if you had no clue of who she was, you know now. Jennifer Hudson is the young lady from American idol that was not successful to win the competition, but she has become very successful in Hollywood.

When we hear a celebrity’s name on the news it can be about anything. It can be good or bad. Unfortunately, this time it was bad news. News we all would not dear to dream of happening to us. I can’t begin to understand what she may be feeling right now. About a month ago, the news revealed great news about the actress. Not even a month later she has to stomach this tragedy.

I send my condolences and respect to not only the actress but to her family. Bad news is something we all have to deal with some time in our life. Bad news can be something that one might see and another might not. For instance, the plot to kill Senator Obama and other African Americans may be seen to others as nothing. I guess the best way to describe some news that’s worst than others to as devastating. Devastating news is too much to bear.

MY NIECE

I have a 2 year old named Trinity but, sometimes she acts as though she may just be older . She just says the darnest things ever , we often think that she is an old soul that has come back to live within her. Trinity can be so loving at times and can cheer you up on the worst day of your life. The other day she walked out of the room fully dressed with one of her dolls, and said that she is going outside and she was making sure that she dressed warm because outside was very cold .Makes you wonder at times where she get these things from.

Trinity has a little game that she plays with her uncle , where he is her baby and she is his mom and she takes her sippy cup and feeds him her milk. He walks around acting like he's talking baby language like "goo goo ga ga" and she acts as though she truley understands him. Trust me this is the most funniest thing to see . Trinity often goes to bed about 3 in the morning after watching noggin, which is a very educational channel for children her age.

Trinity to us seems very advanced for her age. To us we call her a scholar in the works ,because she catch on fast to everything that she sees.

"Black Watch"

The play "Black Watch" provided energy and spiced up the plot of the average war story. It was exciting and allowed the viewers to expand our imaginations. The whole presence of the play allowed the audience to view it as though we were part it. I got a better understanding of what I read and I was able to receive the play with appreciation.

The effects that were given along with the energy, placed “Black Watch” into a great position for excellent ratings. I as extremely satisfied with the actors and their performances. This play took war stories into a separate level. The average war story included much more of what we would say is fiction. The play was much more realistic.

The men built a brotherly relationship with each other. The play involved love, humor, fear and desire. The feeling of desire that the men demonstrated was the need to return home. Even though they did have sexual desires, their main focus was if and when they would return home to their families. Unlike what Swafford in “Jarhead” displayed, the level of fear was much stronger in “Black Watch.”

The men were fearful every time they heard gun fire near their post. Even as they told the story to the reporter, they explained every feeling they felt then and at present.

I feel if I saw a play for each book we read thus far, I would be as satisfied with the fact that we read three war stories. The play was filled with explanations and clarifications of things that I didn’t acknowledge when I read it. I enjoyed this war story from beginning to end.

Brain Twister

When I first read the play “Black Watch," I couldn't even come up with any ideas to write a blog. My mind became blank. All the ideas I thought would have became a blur. I was behind me, in my past. The play was one of the hardest I ever read. When I began to read it, I thought to myself, "not another war story." Then I realized that it was not only another war story, but one that I didn't understand at all.

As I began reading, it jumped out at me that reading this play will take a lot of skills. Each word that I had no idea of what it was, I just made it up according to the structure of the sentence. It gave me a better idea of what I was reading.

I realized why the professor recommended that we attend the play. In comparison with "Jarhead" and "Shooting War" it consisted of similar ideas. In "Jarhead" everything was given an explanation. I understood what the term "fieldfuck" was. Towards the ending of "Jarhead" I had to read out loud in order to stay interested, but from the beginning to the end of "Black Watch" I was reading out loud. It was not to stay interested, but to get a better understanding.

The HTC Diamond

The HTC Diamond is one of the newest cellular devices. The device has extraordinary features and enhanced capabilities. The phone has a camera and a camcorder with 3.2 megapixels. The device functions on Windows Mobile 6.1. It is GPS enabled, web and email capable and bluetooth capable. The camera feature on the phone and its internet capabilities will provide any blogger to blog at all times.

The Diamond has a unique style. Jimmy Burns would have a need to utilize this device. The phone will allow him to tape up to 4GB of action. The clarity of the screen is very lucid. Watching a program is like watching television in your living room, only on a smaller screen.

The phone is sold at several cellular companies. It is what we want in a phone, what we need in a phone. It definitely allows us to utilize it for many functions.

Politics and War

How does Politics and War have a connection? Politics is defined as the process by which groups of people make decisions. War is defined as an international relations dispute, characterized by organized violence between national military units. The connection takes play when the international relation becomes a dispute and they are unable to come to a decision.

The first question I asked myself when I began to read "Shooting War" was, "why is this book even on a bookshelf, for sale." As I began to read more in-dept, I became more interested in the book. It is so relevant to what is going and at the present time and what may possibly be our future. The author goes on to give an illustration of what is our future. The book is gruesome and very graphic. It even became grotesque to even read and visualize.

This course has demonstrated that blogging is our future. The book clearly shows that same demonstration. It also demonstrates a lot of politics. Shooting War is very intense and as discussed in class has a lot of political satire. The president at the time is Senator McCain. He not only illustrated the role of the president at that time, but his political satire illustrated what the United States was at that time. It shows an image that the United States is basically wasting their time in Iraq, and the Iraqis see us as a bad country. It also demonstrates religion, racism and sexism. The fact that he has a Starbucks sign in basically every scene, the Muslim clan and when he consistently ignores what Sameera has to say shows these demonstrations.

I found the book to be interesting and important because we as a country shouldn't want this to be our future. Women are looked at as sex objects and not as intelligent. He metaphorically degrades women with his sex scenes. This book should be a wake up call for not only women but the entire nation. We not only war against international nations but amongst ourselves. It becomes a political state for men, women, child, religion, race. The political state becomes a war, a war that we fight within our own communities. The war is fought throughout the nation.

Ideal President

The election of ’08 has become strenuous for the entire United States. How do we make our decision of who should replace President Bush? Who is the ideal candidate? Some may think we should vote by party, democrat or republican. In my opinion the ideal candidate for election should be based upon the best candidate.

Who is the best candidate? The best candidate is the one that believes and know in his heart that he can take this country out of the hardship we are facing. The ideal candidate should be able to make the citizens feel proud of their decision as the United States National Anthem demonstrates a strong country with a led by a strong leader. He should demonstrate professionalism, integrity and intelligence. He will be a man of morals with strong leadership skills. He will know how to run things and is not tainted by politics. He should be a businessman or a general.

Do you think this is what America is searching for? I want someone to bring home the troops from Iraq. Someone that will bring the nation as it is told in the Pledge of Allegiance, to be, “one nation under God, indivisible with Liberty and Justice for all.” We need someone who will be able to provide results and repair our economical status. Don’t w all want to cease from complaining and rejoice together? I want to be able to see my President on the television and feel proud. I want to be ale to say that my President Obama or President McCain.

Relocation

My sister called me and asked my opinion on her relocating to California. I instantly responded with a no. My quick response bothered me later on because I wasn't sure if I should have given her that quick response. It wasn't only a quick response but also a negative response. I think I could have been a little more supportive. Did I respond in that way because of my own selfish reasons of not wanting her to be that distant from me? Is it because I just don't think its a good idea? Well, I have concluded that its for both those reasons. She already lives in New Jersey which is far enough because I don't see her often. She does not have any relatives that live in California. I also don't think it's a good idea because she will be making this move all alone and will not have anyone there for support.

I know this move is for a possible increase in her income, but it may not be worth it. I did explain to her that it will be too far from everyone and she might just come right back. Sometimes we speak before think and don't think twice about the other person's feelings. I wish I gave her the same answer but in a different way. If she asked for anyone advise aside from me and received the same feedback I might feel relieved, but I am deeply regretful. I tend to always speak my mind but my intentions is not to hurt anyone's feelings.

During conversations I usually listen attentively because I expect the other person to do the same. I just don't think I even listened this time.
